“I was doing the Chasing Cancellara. I started at 2:00 am and I was feeling great, racing great. 37km in I was descending with a Swiss guy, too fast in the dark and we came upon a pretty tight turn at some 70+km/h. He made it, but I ended up in a ditch, luckily for me it was grass, so it could’ve been much worse. I broke my left shoulder blade and 3 ribs. It means 6-8 weeks of downtime. So my season is effectively over, no 24h World Championships for me this year. but I will be back.”
What can I say about today? I hate this part I will be back though and I promise to keep my passion for fast riding. #lovecycling#cyclinglife.
And here is why: ‘Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming ‘Wow! What a Ride!’” - H. Thompson
