After the last race, Marko said: 

"The World Cup 24h was one of the main goals of this season. So, the primary goal for Borrego Spings World Champs was to pass the magic 500miles marker once more. Of course, my wish was to give Christoph Strasser a run for his money, but with the problems I had (dhiarrea) that was just not possible this time around. I am extremely pleased that I didn't give up and finished the race with a great result. The first World Cup victory is something I am very proud of. A big thank you goes to all of my sponsors who stand by my side and especially my wife and children who support me through it all. Without their support, there would be no victories."
